Welcome to our classroom blog! I hope you find this information helpful!
What We're Learning:
- SOCIAL STUDIES: We are currently focusing on an Economics unit. Your students have been learning about different types of work in our community, goods and services, consumers and producers, and the benefits of saving and spending money.
- MATH: We are learning about fractions. We will be having pizza for lunch on Friday to help us learn about fractions.
- SCIENCE: Your students are learning interesting facts about corn. They are learning the different parts of corn and how it grows. We have real cornstalks in our classroom that we will be looking at on Thursday.
- LANGUAGE ARTS: We are focusing on consonant clusters this week while we read a book called The Adventures of Ranger Dockett. Through this book, the students are also learning about the jobs of park rangers.
HOMEWORK: The students should be reading a book each night. Please encourage your children to read at home. The science homework will be due on Tuesday, December 9.
FIELDTRIP REMINDER: The second graders will be going on a fieldtrip on Monday, November 24 to the bank. This fieldtrip will be a great ending to our economics unit!
